Recharge and rejuvenate yourself on this therapeutic weekend course
For over a decade now I have shared the secrets and magic of English Willow Basketry on this two day course. Discover for yourself the elegant and beautiful techniques that turn simple sticks of willow into timeless pieces of wonder.
As a participant you will spend a pleasant therapeutic weekend learning how to make a round shopping basket with a roped handle and a bread basket to take home and keep. I try to create a holistic approach to basketry incorporating breathing and mindfulness to create an immersive experience. Basketry is philosophy and I hope you will leave the weekend feeling a little lighter and more joyful.
Held in the lovely Parish Hall, Walnut Hill in Surlingham, Norfolk NR14 7AG which is about four miles south of the historic City of Norwich and its many attractions.
I will provide tools and materials, tea and coffee and expert tuition. It is an enjoyable and rewarding experience and you will help maintain a heritage craft. We commence 9.30 and finish around 4pm each day.
For those that have already attended a course there is the opportunity to learn how to make a small log basket with under foot base and twisted handles.
Price is £160 per person. A £60 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place with the balance payable 2 weeks prior to the event.
